 The organization of data generally represents the identification, definition and evaluation processes, as well the structuring and memorizing of information within an informational system. In particular, it represents the elaboration of a program.




This organization involves defining, structuring, ordering and grouping the data available in homogeneous data collections. Also, it involves the establishment of the relations between the data, between the elements of the collections and the collections themselves as well as the storage of data on an informational support, which can be processed using a calculation system.


The purpose of data organizing is to automatically find different data using different criteria. The goals with this data organization are minimizing the access time, minimizing the internal and external memory occupied by the data, reflecting all the connections between the objects, the phenomena and the economic processes this data represents and changing the structure of the data and of the relations between them without modifying the programs which process it.


Information is divided according to different criteria. The information in the informational system, which is generated during and due to the economic processes, are divided according to the details. Thus, we have elementary data and compound data.


The elementary information is also known as scaling data, it cannot be divided both at an informational level and at a processing level. For instance, you can think of the foreign exchange value on a certain day or the price of a product contained on a bill. The elementary information is identified through the name and it has a certain value.
